Goldschmidt is the foremost annual, international conference on geochemistry and related subjects, organized by the European Association of Geochemistry and the Geochemical Society. The European Association of Geochemistry and the Geochemical Society believe that, with the appropriate safety measures in place, it should be possible to hold a safe and rewarding meeting at the Lyon Congress Centre. The Organizing Committee has therefore decided that Goldschmidt2021 will be in a hybrid format, combining an onsite meeting for delegates who can travel, with an online meeting for those who cannot, while aiming to promote as much interaction as possible between the two types of delegates. We also know that it is very difficult to predict what the situation will be like in July and, should a physical conference in Lyon ultimately not be possible, we may need to move to a fully online meeting.
