The postdoctoral scientist will assume a leading role in the first systematic, lineage-resolved analyses of the coding potential for chemoautotrophy and will contribute to studies of horizontal gene transfer and phage-host interactions in the aphotic ocean. They will be advised by Dr. R. Stepanauskas and will be engaged in an international group of collaborating scientists. The position is offered for a period of three years. Candidates must have a PhD degree in a relevant field and experience in microbial genomics and bioinformatics. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work harmoniously in a collaborative research environment are crucial.
